This week, Pastor Joe's message is based on Acts 27.
Recap of Acts 27:1-20
Lessons in the “storms of life:”
-storms do not always come because of some disobedience (as with Jonah), but God sometimes allows us to go through storms. Paul was not disobedient, nor was he out of God’s will
-storms bring out what is inside, our true character
-in spite of storms God is still in control, furthering His purposes
-storms cannot separate us from the presence of God, in fact it is in storms that we can often more clearly see the presence, power and protection of God
-storms open the door to serve others, particularly non-believers (our journey through life is as much for others as for ourselves)
-storms open the door to witness

Sunday Morning Message from July 3rd, 2005

This week, Pastor Joe's message is entitled "The Gospel for the Great and Small", based on Acts 25:11-26:32.

Recap of Acts 25:12-27
1. We must not be unduly influenced by wealth, status or position (James 2). The pomp and grandeur of Paul's meeting before King Agrippa was designed to make him feel inferior and intimidate him. It didn't.
2. We must realize who the real VIP's of the world are, and who it is that holds genuine power.
3. We must come to see that the "up and outers" need the gospel as much as the "down and outers."
