Recap of Acts 22:1-5
1. Paul readily makes a defense both of the gospel and of his ministry. Believers are instructed by Peter in 1 Peter 3:15 to ready to give an answer (a defense) for the reason for their hope.
2. Paul’s defense, a testimony, has three parts: before conversion (vv. 1-5) how he was converted (vv. 6-16), his post-conversion experience and commission from God (vv. 17-21).
3. Paul sought for common ground with his listeners, a good principle for evangelism. Some areas of common ground we may have with the unbelievers around us are: religious experience, ethnicity, marriage & family, former lifestyle
